Inktober 2019: Day Eight

The prompt for the day from INKredible Inktober is “Foxy Tale.”

Inktober 2019: Day Seven

The prompt for today is “Floating House” from INKredible Inktober.

Inktober 2019: Day Six

It’s day six and I’m still doin’ it! LOOKIT ME GOOOOO!

Anyway…

Today’s prompt from INKredible Inktober is “Inner Warmth.” The label is a bit of an inside inside joke from the ol’ boozing days.

Inktober 2019: Day Five

Back to the prompts from INKredible Inktober. Today it is “Healing Roots.” Too literal? 😀

Inktober 2019: Day Four

Not going with an online prompt today. My nephew texted me that him and his class partner needed an illustration of Poseidon and asked if I’d do one. Couldn’t hardly say no to the kid, could I? Anyway, this is the result. He is happy with it and that is what counts.

PANIC BUTTON. A Short Film By Natalie and Tara

A short film from my internet friends Natalie and Tara of the YouTube channel, Natalie and Tara Try Stuff. I know they are proud of this and rightfully so. Love it.

Inktober 2019: Day Three

From the INKredible Inktober prompts comes “Berry Picker.” This one got away from me a bit. Serves me right for trying to art the morning after a tussle with insomnia. But part of doing this is learning, so there ya go.

SiouxperCon, Inktober, and Whatnot.

Well. Here I am at my woefully neglected smidge of the internet. What is happening, babies? I’ve been doing some stuff. Yuppers.

Last weekend I attended SiouxperCon in Sioux Falls and, as fate would have it, I moderated two panels while I was there. Had a helluva good time but am quite frankly still too exhausted to do a write-up. One is coming. Cross my ass.

Also, for the first time I am doing Inktober. Started by Jake Parker in 2009 as a way to develop better drawing habits, it is a drawing challenge to do one ink work a day for every day in October. The official site has prompts to help kick the ideas in gear and many other places do as well. My friend Jen Dixon joined with some artist friends to create some prompts and a contest to win some Skillshare memberships under the banner INKredible Inktober. Yesterday was “Metamorphosis” and today was “Forest of Wonders.” I’ll be posting the rest as they are completed. Drawings below.

So, anywhozle, I’ll get a SiouxperCon post (probably two or three) and keep plugging away at the sloppy art. Amazing how quick the skill start to slip when you don’t do it for a while. I should know better.

Deviled Eggs

I was inspired early in the morning to write two different stories based on this title. The other can be found here.

Deviled Eggs

The potluck at the VFW was already filling up by the time Ann arrived. Kids were chasing each other outside and a few adults were clustered in small groups, chatting away. Ann grabbed a big covered plastic tub out of the back seat of her car as Mac came over to help.

“These your deviled eggs, Annie?” he said.

“You bet, Mac. Go ahead and grab some of that Tupperware and take it inside.” Ann hadn’t owned an actual piece of Tupperware in years, but every plastic container was called that by most people in these parts.

Mac helped carry in the eggs and as a reward was given an advance egg that he could not resist.

“Best deviled eggs around, as usual.” Mac smiled as he finished chewing up his treat.
